Tuesday Unwrapped: Hair Raising Fun
I beg Meagan every morning to please put in clips or pony holders into her thick lush hair. Many people would do many things to have hair like hers and it makes me crazy that she would rather it just hang than "do" it up all pretty. After a typical morning of my begging and pleading with butterfly clips in hand, she went on the trampoline and charged herself full of static electricity. She quickly decided that this is how she wants her hair to be everyday. And informed me that clips and pony holders would not let her hair be....crazy. Well I guess her hair should match her personality.
So rather than argue, I am unwrapping it and knowing that one day she wont see this as a fashion statement.

Love it! Sounds like my daughter--she does not want anyone to touch it! she will only put hair clips in if it's her idea.
That is hilarious! Enjoy it now . . . and think of the blackmail pictures you'll have years down the road!!! :)
at fifteen, i feel like i am still having this argument with my daughter! but i know i need to let it rest... lest that be all she remember me saying :)
I... give... up... with the barrettes and elastics! My daughter's hair has never been cut (she's over 2) and it is long and straggly... like a perfect little ragamuffin. Girls become women so quickly these days - I want to keep her a plain old "kid" as long as possible.
That's cute! Reminds me of my daughter's hair! She's not much for barettes or ribbons either.
This is so my life with an 7 yo daughter. She hates to have her hair brushed and won't allow me to put bows in it anymore. Love the hair!!!
As a mother to older kids, 1 boy, 4 girls, I could just say .. pick your battles, trust me.
But having oh so been there, and seeing how you bless her with seeing true beauty, I admire you .
Hee hee! I am 32, and I still pretty much like my curly hair wild. Sometimes I straighten the bangs, but one of the joys of having "crazy" hair that still looks (pretty much) OK is that you don't have to spend too much time fussing over it. My own daughter (almost 2) is the same way, I think. I fix her hair all pretty (it's red - she's so lucky!), and she takes the hair bands out before we get to where we are going! Oh well, who am I to arue with her about that? :) Enjoy your cutie!
I love how your little girl has such a strong sense of who she is! I bet she is just fun in a box. :) This is definitely a picture to save - it seems like her personality just speaks through it.
