Tuesdays Unwrapped: Simple Gifts

Today for my Tuesday Unwrapped I am unwrapping these simple gifts from my garden last evening.

I never grew potatoes before so uncovering them and finding them tucked into the ground like a small secret treasure was a joy.

As I pulled the carrots from the ground the sun was setting over my shoulder. It was a beautiful evening.

Sweet Memories--I remember as a child going to the garden with my dad & mom and watching as they dug potatoes--my brother and I would squeal with delight as if there were gold pieces laying in the dirt!

Ohh... I'm jealous!! It's been raining here in NY so much nothing is growing...it's rotting or growing mold here! My garden is a mess. I hope you make something yummy with them...like add some rosemary & garlic...
ENJOY!! And send us some sunshine!!

What a wonderful feeling, to harvest something that you planted in the earth! Those veggies are going to be the yummiest ever!

Beautiful. Isn't it funny that dirt like that is just that... beautiful?! Congrats on a lovely garden and for finding a special moment to really see it all.

isn't it so exciting to walk into the backyard to harvest something you grew?! sometimes i look at our overgrown garden and see it as symbolic of our out-of-control life this summer, but you remind me here that those treasures we pick or dig out of the ground are symbolic too.

Enjoy your harvest!

Okay, I'm jealous. My garden was mostly a bust this year, between the dog and the rain.. so thanks for sharing. And for being someone who can appreciate dirt - a favourite of mine.

I love this! I want to come over and have potatoes at your house! ;) I have a dream of a garden someday, but as my mom says, this isn't the right season for it. Someday, though.
