Frugal Fix: Repurposed Wine Rack Towel Holder
I love wine racks.
I have collected them since before I drank wine. But let me be clear, I am not a big wine drinker. However, that hasn't dampened my love of wine racks.
So rather than add more bottles of wine that I will never drink to my newest and coolest rack, I have repurposed it here as a towel holder in my main floor bathroom.

Starting Friday, we will be hosting a Mister Linky for you all to share your Frugal Fixes. So go take a picture of your cheep and easy to replicate Friday Frugal Fix. Looking forward to many new ideas!

Tuesday Unwrapped: You're Never too Old to Wish
This may be my favorite Tuesday Unwrapped yet.If you ask Michael about a bunch of topics, chances are he's "too old" for many.
Thats why I LOVE this picture.
He is at Build A Bear. During the stuffing portion, you reach into the bin of hearts, warm one up in your hand for your bear, and then close your eyes and make a wish. Here you can see Michael isnt too old to make a wish for his bear.

Its a sweet moment he has no idea was captured on film.

Club Penguin Puffle Round Up Cake
You may remember we did puffle cupcakes for Michael's birthday. This week we did a Club Penguin Cake based on the coin earning game "Puffle Round Up".Heres a look at what the Puffle Round Up game on Club Penguin looks like.

So the goal of the game is to heard the puffles into the corral before they escape. This would be the basis of design for the cake.
Start with a white frosted sheet cake.
Add white frosting for eyes and dot the center of each with black frosting. Draw a black frosting mouth.

Product Review: Pocket Doodles For Kids

I was sent a review copy of Pocket Doodles For Kids by Bill Zimmerman recently to try out with my kids. We are always looking for new and exciting things to do when you can't be doing exactly what you want to do. For example, Michael has karate twice a week where Meagan must be a good sport and either watch him or keep herself busy-- perfect time to give this new book a whirl.
The pages inside are great. They are sometimes half-drawn comics that you need to complete, pictures that are started, or ideas for something to draw. It answers the age old question: "What should I draw?" I love that it sparks creativity, and gets them thinking while drawing. We found the pages addictive, moving on to the next one and the next one with excitement.

The book is pocket-sized (as described in its name) so its great to tuck in a bag, glove compartment, or backpack. The book is 272 pages and is available from Amazon.com for $9.99. Some of the pages offer writing or fill-in-the-comics prompts so some pages aren't perfect for the super young-but my 4 and 6 year old both loved it.

Works For Me Wednesday: Kissed-By-Nature Balm
Meagan gets very bad rashes. She has since she was a baby. She still needs to wear a pull-up to bed at night because she has an immature bladder and is a super deep sleeper. So, she ends up with rashes still and they are stubborn to get rid of. I have used all the creams and balms; but they don't help that much.
In April I went camping with my friends and Melanie introduced me to her balm, Kissed-By-Nature. It is fantastic. It has been the only thing that has cured Meg's rashes. They are gone for the first time. Melanie's shop offers lots of natural baby, health and beauty products that she makes herself and they are unquestionably fantastic! Please swing by her shop and check her out--she and her products rock.
