Michael's New Scientific Activity

So apparently my son would like to be a geologist. He loves to excavate in the dirt to find rocks and "gems". Well, I guess his impatience finally got the best of him since it was no longer fun to slowly chip away at the dirt with a stick to uncover the mysteries hidden beneath.
He has begun "water blasting" using a high pressure hose to excavate and find what lies within the clay mud. His statement to me in the afternoon as I stripped him of the layers of mud; "I had poor results today. I'll have to try again tomorrow." God help me.

Did you have to hose him down when he was done?!

Yes, he was stripped in the garage and then hosed. And then the clothes got another hosing. And then he was plunked into the hotub.

love love love this! you are a good mom, however , I am so glad those excavator days are over. Now the messes are generally confined to kitchen experiments or bathroom spa days....

OH MY GOSH - those are the best pictures ever. Be sure to have them enlarged for when he brings his first girlfriend home. My weapon of choice is their naked baby pictures - all five of them lined up in a row on my living room wall. Being mom is SO good.

Good for you for letting that boy be a boy! I've heard that is an important part of parenting boys :)

You are a much better mother than I am. I would have freaked out! LOL. Sounds like a great kid you have there. :)

I LOVE that your son already sounds like a scientist. "Poor results today" - so hilarious I actually made a snorting noise. Thanks for this :)

I think you already have a "gem." I hope the next days excavation yields better results!

Thanks for the laugh this morning.
