3 Degrees

It was three degrees out this morning as I stomped through the freshly fallen fluffy white snow to capture a few beautiful images.

Compromise

Im sure you know the song-- "I Would do Anything for Love, But I Won't do That" Well that is my sentiment exactly.

I love my husband. Really...I do.

But he is in love with the idea of getting that God-awful lamp from "A Christmas Story" and prominently displaying it in my front window for all of the neighbors to see.

He even thought it would be a wonderful accent for my Holiday Party two weeks ago.

The phrase "Over my dead body..." may have come out of my mouth. And quite frankly, had he gotten it I may have had the same misstep that Ralphie's mom had when she "accidentally" broke the hideous light fixture.

So while cruising Rite Aid yesterday for vitamins, we stumbled across the lamp and I had to get it for him since things have been crazy and stressful lately. I even prominently displayed it in my front window.

And with some clever photo angles, he get's his wish.

... and I keep my sanity.

I Heart faces: Fix It Friday

I am doing a Fix It Friday for the first time to work on my photo editing skills. So here is the original photo--it is completely unrelated to my life :

A Star is Born

Our homeschooling co-op had its play the other night where Michael took center stage as the "Shoemaker" in the Shoemaker and the Elves.

Here he is just after getting miked (is that even how you spell it??) and very proud for what he is about to go on stage and do.

Tuesdays Unwrapped

Among the happy chaos on Thanksgiving, and the noise and the people, there was a boy who was patient...and hungry.
Check out other unwrappings here.

I ♥ Faces Challenge: Sweet Dreams

Here is Michael, one of my favorite sleeping pictures, while he lived in the NICU for 28 days. In this picture, he weighs 3lbs, 5 ounces and is 15 inches long. (Look at his baggy skin on his knees!)

'Tis the Season....

I am partied out. We held our annual Holiday party last night and I am officially exhausted. Lots of wine, lots of food, lots of friends. While I mingled most of the night I managed to sneak in a few of my favorite foods into my own mouth like the bacon wrapped filet mignon, creme brulee, and cream puffs dipped into the chocolate fountain.

This statue is one of my favorite things, especially when it is dusted with early morning snow. Go check out others Tuesday's Unwrapped over at Chatting at The Sky.
